Curvas de correlación entre la relación agua/cemento y la resistencia a compresión axial del mortero para las canteras El Gavilán y Bazán

Abstract

El presente proyecto de investigación tuvo el propósito de determinar curvas de correlación entre la relación agua/cemento y la resistencia a compresión axial del mortero para las canteras El Gavilán y Bazán. La dosificación empleada fue de cemento:arena 1:4 constante, con relaciones agua/cemento variables de 0,7, 0,8, 0,9, 1. En la elaboración de las muestras de estudio se utilizó Cemento Portland Compuesto Tipo ICo conforme a la norma NTP 334.090, agua potable y agregado fino (arena gruesa), de la ciudad de Cajamarca, tanto de cerro como de río respectivamente de las canteras antes mencionadas. Se desarrollaron los ensayos de caracterización de los agregados finos con el uso de protocolos, tales como: Contenido de Humedad (MTC E 108 / ASTM D2216 / NTP 339.127), Análisis Granulométrico (MTC E 204 / ASTM C136 / NTP 400.012), Módulo de finura, Cantidad de Material fino que pasa por el tamiz N° 200 (MTC E 202 – ASTM C117 – NTP 400.018), Peso específico y Absorción (MTC E 205 / ASTM C128 / NTP 400.022) y Peso Unitario Volumétrico Suelto (PUSS) y Compactado (PUCS) (MTC E 203 / ASTM C29 / NTP 400.017). Para la realización de las probetas y el ensayo de resistencia a compresión axial del mortero se empleó la normativa (MTC E609 – ASTM C109 – NTP 334.051). Las probetas empleadas fueron de dimensiones cúbicas de 5 x 5 x 5 cm, curadas en una solución de hidróxido de calcio y ensayadas a edades de 7,14 y 28 días. Llegando a la conclusión que la curva de correlación a una edad de 28 días para el rango de relaciones agua/cemento entre 0,7 a 1 para la cantera “El Gavilán” es de fm=-1424.1(a/c)2+2079.4(a/c)-537.35, con un coeficiente de determinación R2=0.983 y que la relación a/c que alcanza la máxima resistencia es de 0,8 con un fm=221.94 kg/cm2, mientras que para la cantera Bazán es de fm=306.81(a/c)2 -646.04(a/c)+411.52, con un coeficiente de determinación R2=0.996 y que la relación a/c que alcanza la máxima resistencia es de 0,7 con un fm=110.02 kg/cm2.

The purpose of this research project was to determine correlation curves between the water / cement ratio and the axial compressive strength of the mortar for the "El Gavilán" and Bazán quarries. The dosage used was cement:sand 1:4 constant, with variable water / cement ratios of 0.7, 0.8, 0.9, 1. The characterization tests of the fine aggregates were developed with the use of protocols, such as: Moisture Content (MTC E 108 / ASTM D2216 / NTP 339.127), Granulometric Analysis (MTC E 204 / ASTM C136 / NTP 400.012), Module of Fineness, Amount of fine material passing through the No. 200 sieve (MTC E 202 - ASTM C117 - NTP 400,018), Specific gravity and Absorption (MTC E 205 / ASTM C128 / NTP 400,022) and Loose Volume Unit Weight (PUSS) and Compacted (PUCS) (MTC E 203 / ASTM C29 / NTP 400.017). For the realization of the test pieces and the test of resistance to axial compression of the mortar, the regulations were used (MTC E609 - ASTM C109 - NTP 334.051). The test pieces used were of cubic dimensions of 5 x 5 x 5 cm, cured in a calcium hydroxide solution and tested at ages of 7,14 and 28 days. Reaching the conclusion that the correlation curve at an age of 28 days for the range of water/cement ratios between 0.7 to 1 for the quarry "El Gavilán" is fm=-1424.1(a/c)2+ 2079.4(a/c) -537.35, with a coefficient of determination R2 = 0.983 and that the ratio a/c that reaches the maximum resistance is 0.8 with a fm=221.94 kg/cm2, while for the quarry Bazán is fm=306.81(a/c)2-646.04(a/c)+411.52, with a coefficient of determination R2=0.996 and that the ratio a/c that reaches the maximum resistance is 0.7 with a fm=110.02 kg/cm2.
