Análisis comparativo de la disminución de la turbidez en el proceso de floculación utilizando un floculante comercial y la paleta de tuna

Abstract

RESUMEN El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo principal realizar un análisis comparativo de la disminución de la turbidez del agua en el proceso de floculación utilizando un floculante comercial y la paleta de tuna, para la purificación de agua. La presente investigación describe la experimentación en laboratorio. Esta experimentación comprende el aplicar la paleta de tuna (floculante natural) y el COPOL CS 600 (floculante comercial) para realizar el análisis físico de agua del Río “San Lucas” (Sector Urubamba). Al evaluar el proceso de floculación utilizando el floculante comercial (ECOPOL CS 600) obtenemos que la turbidez disminuye hasta 10.3 NTU, con una dosificación de 8mg/600 ml en 60 RPM y el floculante natural (Paleta de Tuna) disminuye la turbidez a 3.34 NTU con una dosificación de 10 mg/600ml en 50 RPM, además se cree conveniente analizar el Ph obteniendo un pH de 7 (neutro) y pH de 8 ( básica o alcalina), estando dentro del rango normal (6.5 – 8.5) lo cual es favorable, y permitirá que el resto de contaminantes se purifiquen de manera más rápida, además se pudo concluir que la paleta de tuna por ser un producto natural es más recomendable que un floculante comercial siendo la paleta de Tuna el floculante que permite que la apariencia física del agua sea mejor que el que nos brinda el floculante comercial que en este caso es el ECOPOL CS 600.

ABSTRACT The present research work has the main objective of making a comparative analysis of the decrease of water turbidity in the flocculation process using a commercial flocculant and the tuna palette, for water purification. The present investigation describes laboratory experimentation. This experimentation involves applying the tuna palette (natural flocculant) and COPOL CS 600 (commercial flocculant) to perform the physical water analysis of the "San Lucas" River (Urubamba Sector). When evaluating the flocculation process using the commercial flocculant (ECOPOL CS 600) we obtain that the turbidity decreases up to 10.3 NTU, with a dosage of 8mg / 600 ml at 60 RPM and the natural flocculant (Tuna Palette) decreases the turbidity at 3.34 NTU It is also considered convenient to analyze the Ph obtaining a pH of 7 (neutral) and pH of 8 (basic or alkaline), being within the normal range (6.5 - 8.5) which is favorable, and allow the rest of pollutants to be purified more quickly, it was also possible to conclude that the tuna palette as a natural product is more advisable than a commercial flocculant being the Tuna palette the flocculant that allows the physical appearance of water is better than the one provided by the commercial flocculant, which in this case is the ECOPOL CS 600.
