Funcionalidad familiar y autoestima de los estudiantes de segundo y tercero de secundaria de la Institución Educativa Pública Raúl Porras Barrenechea, Carabayllo – Lima 2018

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo principal determinar la relación entre funcionalidad familiar y autoestima de los estudiantes de segundo y tercero de secundaria de la institución educativa pública Raúl Porras Barrenechea, Carabayllo – Lima 2018. La investigación tiene un enfoque cuantitativo, de alcance correlacional, diseño no experiemental. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron el Modelo Circunflejo de los sistemas Marital y Familiar (Faces III) de David H. Olson y el Inventario de Autoestima de Coopersmith y se aplicó a la muestra de 202 participantes. Los resultados hallaron correlacion positiva significativa entre las variables funcionalidad familiar y autoestima. Otro de los resultados encontrados, hay relación positiva entre las dimensiones de funcionalidad familiar: cohesion familiar, armonía familiar, comunicación, afectividad y roles con la variable autoestima. En conclusión, a mayor funcionalidad familiar, en mayor frecuencia se presenta la autoestima en los estudiantes. Finalmente, la funcionalidad familiar se evidencia en mayor proporción en los varones, lo mismo ocurre con la varibale autoestima, se identifica más en varones que en las mujeres.

This research had as main objective to determine the relationship between family functionality and self-esteem of the students of second and third of secondary of the public educational institution Raul Porras Barrenechea, Carabayllo-Lima 2018. The research has a quantitative approach, with correlational scope, non-experiemental design. The instruments used were the circumflex model of the Marital and family systems (faces III) by David H. Olson and Coopersmith's self-esteem inventory. 202 participants of both sexes, ranging from 12 to 17 years, formed the sample. The results found significant positive correlation (rho = 0.506 * *) among the variables, this indicates that more familiar functionality more often presents the Utoestima. The relationship between familial cohesion and selfesteem, is weak positive (rho = 0.289 * *), to greater cohesion less often presents self-esteem. Family communication and self-esteem is moderate positive (rho = 0415 * *) since, by increasing communication, self-esteem also increases. In conclusion, more familiar functionality, more often self-esteem is presented in students. There is also a positive relationship between family cohesion and self-esteem. Finally, it was found that there is moderate edge competition relationship between communication and self-esteem.
