| es_PE |
dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT This work was carried out to evaluate the influence of two parameters: particle size of pectin extracted from orange and the contact time, for reducing the iron (Fe) content in acid waters from mining tailings from Quiruvilca, La Libertad Region in Peru; whose initial concentration of Fe was 540.52 ppm. After subjecting the effluents to the different treatments, a higher adsorption of the Fe was obtained with the larger particle size (# 50 mesh) and with the shortest contact time (4 hours), achieving a reduction level of 54% in the Fe content (respect to its initial content). We concluded that a considerable decrease in the Fe content in acid waters is achieved by working with a shorter contact time and a larger particle size of pectin. | es_PE |
