Índice de masa corporal pregestacional y presencia de anemia ferropénica en gestantes del CMI Pedro López Guillén – Huarochirí, 2022 -2023

Abstract

Con el objetivo de identificar la relación entre el Índice de masa corporal pregestacional (IMC PG) y la presencia de anemia ferropénica en gestantes atendidas en el CMI Pedro López Guillén en Huarochirí durante diciembre del 2022 y febrero del 2023, se realizó una investigación cuantitativa, de diseño no experimental transversal correlacional simple, con una muestra de 70 historias clínicas de gestantes del tercer trimestre, las cuales cumplieron con criterios de selección pre establecidos. El instrumento de recolección de datos fue una ficha de investigación, los datos fueron analizados mediante el chi cuadrado para determinar la relación entre las variables. Los resultados demostraron que las gestantes fueron mayormente jóvenes, convivientes, amas de casa, con secundaria, con 0 a más partos y controladas; el IMC PG promedio de éstas fue de 26,23; el 42.9% de las gestantes tuvieron un IMC PG normal; sin embargo, el 41.4% tuvo sobrepeso, el 14.3% fueron obesas y el 1.4% tuvo bajo peso; así mismo, el 82.9% no tuvieron anemia ferropénica, el 15.7% y1.4% la tuvieron leve y moderada, respectivamente, ninguna tuvo anemia severa. Concluyéndose que no existe relación significativa entre el índice de masa corporal pregestacional y la presencia de anemia ferropénica (p = ,864).

With the aim of identifying the relationship between pregestational body mass index (PG BMI) and the presence of iron-deficiency anemia in pregnant women attended at the Pedro López Guillen CMI in Huarochirí during December 2022 and February 2023, a quantitative, non-experimental cross-sectional correlational study was conducted with a sample of 70 medical records of third-trimester pregnant women who met pre-established selection criteria. The data collection instrument was a research form, and the data were analyzed using the chi-square test to determine the relationship between the variables. The results showed that the pregnant women were mostly young, cohabiting, homemakers, with a high school education, with 0 or more previous pregnancies, and under medical supervision. The average PG BMI of these women was 26.23. 42.9% of the pregnant women had a normal PG BMI, while 41.4% were overweight, 14.3% were obese, and 1.4% were underweight. Furthermore, 82.9% of the pregnant women did not have iron-deficiency anemia, while 15.7% and 1.4% had mild and moderate anemia, respectively, and none had severe anemia. It was concluded that there is no significant relationship between pregestational body mass index and the presence of iron-deficiency anemia (p = .864).
