Ansiedad ante los exámenes y autoconcepto en estudiantes del nivel secundario de una institución educativa de Lima Metropolitana, 2022

Abstract

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo principal determinar de qué manera la ansiedad frente a los exámenes influye en el autoconcepto en alumnos de nivel secundario de un establecimiento educativo situado en Lima Metropolitana, en el año 2022. Este análisis se guio bajo una metodología cuantitativa, adoptando un diseño no experimental y de corte transversal, con un nivel de alcance correlacional. La muestra estudiada englobó a 167 alumnos que cursan entre el primer y quinto año de secundaria, cuyas edades fluctúan entre los 11 y 17 años. Para recopilar la información pertinente, se emplearon instrumentos de medición fiables como la Escala AF5 de autoconcepto desarrollada por García y Musitu (1999), junto con el Inventario de Autoevaluación de Ansiedad sobre Exámenes (IDASE). Con respecto a los datos obtenidos, es evidente que el índice de significancia bilateral alcanzado es de ,003, un valor que se sitúa por debajo del nivel de significancia establecido α=0.05 (P < α), acompañado de un coeficiente de correlación de Spearman de -,458. En consecuencia, se deduce que hay una relación significativamente negativa y de magnitud moderada entre los niveles de ansiedad generados ante situaciones de evaluación y el autoconcepto de los estudiantes analizados.

The main objective of this research is to determine how test anxiety influences self-concept in high school students of an educational institution located in Metropolitan Lima, in the year 2022. This analysis was guided under a quantitative methodology, adopting a non-experimental and cross-sectional design, with a correlational level of scope. The sample studied included 167 students between the first and fifth year of secondary school, whose ages ranged from 11 to 17 years. In order to collect the pertinent information, reliable measurement instruments were used, such as the AF5 self-concept scale developed by García and Musitu (1999), together with the Inventory of Self-Assessment of Test Anxiety (IDASE). With respect to the data obtained, it is evident that the bilateral significance index reached is ,003, a value that is below the established significance level α=0.05 (P < α), accompanied by a Spearman correlation coefficient of -.458. Consequently, it is deduced that there is a significantly negative relationship of moderate magnitude between the levels of anxiety generated before evaluation situations and the self-concept of the students analyzed.
