Estilos de crianza y autoestima en estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa privada de Lima Este - 2021

Abstract

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo identificar la relación entre los estilos de crianza y la autoestima de los estudiantes de secundaria de una institución educativa privada de Lima Este. La metodología aplicada en el estudio fue de tipo no experimental de diseño correlacional de corte transversal. La población estuvo conformada por 90 estudiantes, en cuanto al tipo de muestreo es no probabilístico de tipo intencional por conveniencia. Como principal técnica se utilizó la encuesta y los instrumentos aplicados fueron la Escala de Estilos de Crianza de Steinberg y la Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg. Los resultados evidenciaron que el 53.3% de los estudiantes presentan un nivel bajo de Autoestima, seguido por un 21.1% que tienen el nivel medio, y 25.6% poseen un nivel alto de autoestima. En cuanto a los estilos de crianza se demostró que el 34.4% de los estudiantes poseen el estilo de crianza Negligente, seguido por el 33.3% el estilo Democrático, el 20% evidencian un estilo Permisivo y el 11.1% mantiene el estilo Autoritario y por último el estilo Mixto con un 1.1%. Además, se determinó que existe correlación en un nivel positiva alta entre las variables Estilos de Crianza y Autoestima, con un coeficiente de correlación (r= 0.746) y valor de significancia (p = 0.000 < 0.05), por tanto, se concluye que la manera en cómo los padres demuestren afecto y compromiso, así como el desarrollo de su autonomía, establecerá además el desenvolvimiento de la autoestima en sus hijos.

The objective of this research is to identify the relationship between parenting styles and self-esteem of high school students from a private educational institution in East Lima. The methodology applied in the study was of a non-experimental type with a cross-sectional correlational design. The population consisted of 90 students, in terms of the type of sampling is non-probabilistic of intentional type for convenience. The survey was used as the main technique and the instruments applied were the Steinberg Parenting Styles Scale and the Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale. The results showed that 53.3% of the students have a low level of self-esteem, followed by 21.1% who have a medium level, and 25.6% have a high level of self-esteem. Regarding the parenting styles, it is revealed that 34.4% of the students have the Neglectful parenting style, followed by 33.3% the Democratic style, 20% show a Permissive style and 11.1% maintain the Authoritarian style and finally the Mixed style with 1.1%. In addition, it will be limited that there are consequences at a high positive level between the Parenting Styles and Self-esteem variables, with a coefficient of consequences (r= 0.746) and significance value (p = 0.000 < 0.05), therefore, it is concluded that the way in which parents show affection and commitment, as well as the development of their autonomy, will also establish the development of self-esteem in their children.
